It’s been so sunny recently that I haven’t done as much sewing as I’d like to. I really need to set up an al fresco sewing station so I can sew in the sunshine!
I went to visit my friend Lisa in Leicestershire at the weekend and I wanted to give her a housewarming present. She has a lovely dog called Jake and when I found this Sophie Allport dog print fabric I thought it would be perfect.
I sewed the cover in an envelope style on my machine and used a striped fabric for the reverse. I chose the striped fabric partly because I thought it might be overkill using the dog-print all over. I also thought that if it wasn’t matched up at the edges I might and up with some strange ‘Catdog’ style double-headed dogs!
The result was very cute and I think it would match a lot of colour schemes. This fabric would also be great for a dog bed because it seems very hard-wearing.
And here’s lovely Jake!
I’m planning on making some more of these and would like to use some of the other Sophie Allport fabrics too.
