Clip Frame Purse

I went to the Sewing and Knitting Show at Alexandra Palace a couple of weeks ago and picked up lots of supplies including the fabric haul below!

I wanted to make something I hadn’t made before and as it was my friend Rachel Lee’s Birthday, and she often gets a lot of my first attempts as presents, I thought I’d try a clip frame purse. I can’t resist a clip frame and paired with Liberty it is rather beautiful.

I sewed the outer fabric and lining together first (outside facing in) and then turned it out and put the wadding in between. I sewed near the very edge to hold the wadding in place. I did it this way just because I wanted it to be really neat inside the purse.

I then added the clip frame by hand which is a bit tricky at first and quite hard to do neatly! I then added the pom poms by hand to match the lining.

And voila!
